Privacy Policy

Herd is a Shopify app that collects post-purchase feedback from customers on the thank-you page and provides merchants with a weekly AI-generated summary of that feedback.

From customers (via the checkout widget): star rating, optional written feedback, chip selections, consent to feature their review. Order ID and order name to associate feedback with orders. No names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses are collected unless the merchant separately enables consent display. From merchants: Shopify store domain, plan type, billing status. No payment information is stored by Herd: billing is handled entirely by Shopify.

Customer feedback is stored and used solely to generate weekly digest summaries for the merchant who owns the store. We do not sell, share, or use customer feedback for advertising or any purpose beyond delivering the app's core functionality.

We use Supabase for database storage (data encrypted at rest and in transit). We use Anthropic's Claude API to generate weekly digest summaries: feedback text is sent to Anthropic's API for this purpose only. We use Shopify's billing API for subscription management. No other third parties receive your data.

Merchant and customer feedback data is retained for as long as the merchant's account is active. Merchants can request deletion of all their data by contacting us.
